Goalkeeper Ryan Jones was this week recognised as AFC Liverpool’s Player of the Month for August.

Jones, who made his debut for the Reds in the win against Stockport Sports back in February, has been an ever pesent this campaign, keeping three clean sheets in his nine appearances this month.

‘I think Ryan has been really consistent from the start of the season and he deserves his award’ said his manager, Paul Moore. ‘For the first three games of the season he was immense and I genuinely think I have the best goalkeeper in the league.

‘I think one Ryan starts believing in himself that little bit more, he go only go from strength to strength. Playing football gets your confidence up and gets you noticed, though I’m looking to keep him at this football club for as long as I can.

‘This is award is voted on collectively by the players and the coaching staff and this is a good choice and I expect this won’t be the last one he gets, though on a lighter note if he gets too many that will tell me he’s working too much, so I’ll have to be giving the defence a kick up the backside.

‘Congratulations to Ryan though. It’s thoroughly deserved.’

And all at AFC Liverpool echo those words. Well done Ryan.
